Lovely! I grew these from seed starting a couple of years ago, and this year they have really done well - now on the second flush of flowers having been cut back. The colour is quite startling! I saw them growing at Barrington Court with tithonia - it was a really hot bed. Why don't we see more tithonia, I love it!

I don't know tithonia - I shall have to investigate it!

I'm collecting seeds from 'Salome' as each seed pod ripens. :-)

tithonia is otherwise called mexican daisy or swordplant? it is fabulous, tall and the flowers are held on elongated flattened stems - difficult to describe! I did get some seed two years ago and grew it - to go with this geranium. Unfortunately the geranium didn't flourish in the first year so I didn't quite acheive my desired look and now this year, geraniums great but no tithonia - such is life!!!

Oh dear...I shall still check it out, but if it didn't thrive in your garden - hmmm, it might not in mine either! :-((

I think you have to treat it as an annual - the tithonia did ok and so did the geranium, but not at the same time which was what I had intended! The magenta geranium and the bright orange tithonia - plus some marigolds - were meant to give my front garden a real hot look - it kind of worked but did't match the vision in my mind's eye! Am gonna get some more tithonia seed and plant at the allotment next year, think I got it on line from Thompson & Morgan. x
