For Spritz.... Sax. fortunei Mark 1...... (saxifraga fortunei)

....this is the smallest plant that i found in complete shade under the annuals... i have now moved him into the bed just infront of the patio, where he will get a bit more light but still plenty of shade...

It does look similar, Angie - are the leaves quite 'thick'?? The leaves on my new one are smooth, too - no hairs ar all.

Interesting. I'd quite like it to flower soon, too!

David i will try to get you some seed... or a root cutting.... it would go nice in your chocolate theme..... leave it with me..... and yes Spritz sounds just the same.... did you look at the pictures i have of the flowers? they really are special.

i have just seen yours in flower Spritz,,,, i think it is the same plant or very very closely related... and David, i have one that i dug up, it is quite a large clump proberly too much to post as it is but i will try to divide it for you soon and this stupid rain gives me a break.... you know what i am even wondering if stem cuttings would take? i will have a little experiement or two and at some point some will be making its way to ya :D

Interesting, Angie. Did you see the other one I got at the Bath & West Show? Very similar, only called Saxifraga fortunei 'Rubrifolia'. The leaves aren't as thick, but it's meant to flower about now, so I keep looking for buds!
