I have almost an identical shot taken during our trip back in 2005! Thanks for reminding me of the that fabulous part of Scotland, Helen.

It is a great place Berneh eh. one of my favourites because everything is slow moving and tranquil.

Totally agree Helen - just loved this quiet and peaceful part of Scotland and they were so many other beautiful spots just like this one ... loved the area around Glen Coe and around Smoo Cave, Ullapool and Dunnet Head. Actually I loved just about every spot we visited!!!

we visited all those spots as well .The scenery between Ullapool and Dunnet Head was stunning , wasn't it? every corner you turned there was another stunning view!! my camera worked overtime !!!

Exactly the same with us! It is just a magnificent part of the world - when we got back we bored our relatives senseless with the photos. Like you, we just took loads of photos - that section from Ullapool to Dunnet Head is breathtaking stuff!!

mind you your photo of the beach where you grew up is pretty spectacular too!! my son stays in New Zealand and a lot of the scenery there is good too. I haven,t visited Australia yet though ,maybe soon!!

Hope you do get here Helen - there's lots of spectacular scenery (just don't come in the summer!) Haven't been to NZ yet but everyone who goes there is blown away with its beauty, so it will be on my list.

NZ is very nice as well.I have photos on wall of both Scotland and NZ and it is hard to tell which is which!!!
We spent Christmas there last year which was lovely but very different!!
Christmas carols ets in the heat just didn't feel right as we are so used to cold and frosty santa lovely though to experience it

Yes I've seen your NZ photos - and they're both scenic places that's for sure. We're used to the hot Christmas (but air conditioning relieves the agongy!!) We had friends who came out at summer time from London to spend Christmas here in northern Queensland - boy did they suffer!!
