You could get a small pump and place stones in it.

I used a wooden barrel with chicken wire stones and a pump inside. It's on one of my early blogs.

I just nearly asked you a really stupid question - is it frost proof? Then I realised you're in Arizona so am guessing frost isn't a problem you get very often? !
Anyway, I agree - it's a lovely bowl - it def. needs water in it & if you can manage to fit a small pump in that would be brilliant. Looking forward to more pics of what happens to it :))
