Dogberries.

Supposedly, the more dogberries the harder the winter will be..I hope this is true, because my tree only has a normal amount of berries this year. Who knows.

That's what they say about Mountain ash (rowan) berries too - the more fruit, the more snow. But not necessarily colder than usual - let's hope!!

Dogberries are Rowan berries. I know this because PansyPotter posted a pic of some not long ago.. And I hate snow...Yahh
I have never eaten them, Milky, but I know people make dogberry wine! lol

I made Rowan berry jelly one, it set well but it was pretty bitter... We get a flock of cedar waxwings go through here on their migrations north and south, and they love them. Thanks for the local name - didn't know that one.
