thanks tt and morgana have you grown any before? I find they're OK outside but if you bring them inside they are very 'bitty' ie bits drop off them and they make a mess.

I agree with you Richard, they are a mess indoors! I've grown them for always it seems! I'm very rarely without a couple of the plants around the house. During the winter they drop their flowers/leaves behind the pots where you can't see them & they then rot there. They are also like weeds on my balcony they sprout up in the least expected places.

As I have to buy all the compost for my many pots I can't afford to throw it away at the end of the growing season so I always keep it & reuse it.

Busy Lizzies spray their seeds all over the place therefore they end up in other pots. I don't mind usually & leave them to grow. Sometimes I do transplant them & grow them on in their own pots but mostly I leave them alone to grow where they germinate.

I put all my used compost back into the compost bin with all the new stuff to rot down, and use that for my pots, window boxes etc and have had a lot of tomato plants springing up in the middle of the flowers. I have just left them there hoping to get a few extra tomatoes!

That's what happened to me when a tomato sprang up in one of my hanging baskets! :)
