The birds always strip my Pryracantha - but it's keeping them alive, so why should I complain??

I love this pic and agree with you that the birds will strip almost every berry. I have Pyracantha and a Rowan tree, both of which are stripped by the birds.

I love this plant, such a good all year round plant. I find the birds eat the orange berries but leave the red ones alone but I don't know why.

Oh Sandra - YUK!!

Yes, Gee - they eat the orange ones first, even though that shrub is trained against the wall outside the kitchen door - brave birds! After that they move across the garden to these red ones.

I've got lots on mine this year, hope its not a sign of bad winter.

So do I!! I hope that's one of those "old wives' tales"....

looks just like mine! A good berry season is only a sign of the spring and summer just gone, warm spring+wet summer=lots of berries.

Thanks - I much prefer that info to the 'bad winter' theory!!
