Thanks TT , Clarice and Sue ! I never really understood the conscept of how they could stay on top of the water until I took this close-up and saw how their legs were designed to help them float. It was pretty cool to see.

It's got something to do with the surface tension on the water apparently. That and bendy legs !! lol

YES!!!!! What a picture! Great pic, Flcrazy! I have these guys in my pond but they don't seem to last long...between the frog and the fish they disappear by mid summer.
