Viburnum edule

I thought it looked a bit like an angel, the berries are nearly ripe on the viburnum and the colonies are all this wonderful scarlet. I harvest to make syrup after the frost sets in.

Thank you San. I love these this time of year. They are a strong smell associated with fall so most people really dislike them, but not me. I make up a nice red syrup that brings back summer all winter long.

I'm guessing Yum? :-) It really is good. They are cranberry like, but no pulp, just full of juice.

Isn't it wonderful to preserve some of summer to enjoy in the cold months? I think it looks like a soft butterfly.
