Pennisetum setaceum 'Rubrum'

Pennisetum setaceum 'Rubrum' (Pennisetum setaceum)

This grass is not hardy - I lost the one I had last year! This year, I bought 5 plug-plants and grew them on. I shall have another try at over-wintering them.

Oh yes, Motinot - one whiff of frost and you'll lose it, sadly! Andrewr takes his indoors. I tried in a frost-free greenhouse, last year. It didn't make it. They need it a bit warmer, obviously.

Thanks, Sue! I just HAD to have this grass, as I loved it last year!

Louise has this as well - we are both hoping that they are hardy!

I did manage to overwinter one but it remained a poor plant for the rest of the year. Its probably best to start afresh with this one.

Yes, I reckon you're right. I got 5 as plug-plants at reasonable cost, and I'll do the same again next year.
