Yummy. My daughter bought me some back from her recent Lake District holiday. I had never tasted it before and, as I don't like gin I was a bit unsure but it's definitely yummy.

It's already made , we made it this afternoon , we got stuck in and pricked them all , we bought two bottles of Gin and have enough Sloes for another one , we usually make about 3 bottles and put one of them in the loft to start us off with next year ..
It is yummy Gee ! people who come round know we make it and always ask if it's ready at xmas ..
When you finally take most of the sloes out you can put them in melted chocolate , let it go hard , it makes a tasty choccy treat ........

You are welcome any time PP xx

Tony is thinking about doing that Eileen next time we are passing he Blackthorn trees , we were out on holiday when we saw a container full of different shaped and sized walking sticks and they were anything between £ 50 - £ 100 I couldn't believe they were so expensive .. well worth making your own !

I haven't had the wine Hywel , I expect that is nice to ..............

Sandra ..they are the most awful bitter tasting things you can imagine , they draw your mouth and cheeks right up , if you only had a tiny bite you wouldn't ever want to repeat it .. i'm not joking ,truly horrible .. when you decant the gin after 8 weeks you take the berries out leaving a few for decoration ... you can if you like melt chocolate and then put the Gin flavoured Sloes in it , making a kind of liquor choclate , it's quite nice but because each Sloe has a stone in it you have to take each stone out to make it pleasant to eat ...... :o)
