I used to live on the Isle of Wight and Carisbrook Castle has a well with a donkey turning the wooden wheel to raise the water up from it. Charles 1 was imprisoned here.

We enjoyed living there for 17 years until Gerry's working situation was rocky and we had to move and ended up in Derbyshire.

Used to holiday at a caravan park next to Sandown Airport when I was a kid and always promised myself that when I grew up I would live there. Sadly it never happened, but I have very fond memories of the island.
Hope you enjoyed your visit Pondlady. :-))

I used to horseride past there and across the airport runway, there were some woods at the back that were lovely and in the SPring they were full of bluebells.

We lived on the I.O.W for 17 years at Lake. Had a small semi detached house in Newport Road. The airport was only just up the road.
