It is called Cycas revoluta - Sago Palm...however, it's not a true palm. It's is a cycad. They are grown in California by the millions...it's the most common cycad...which are coniferous (cone-bearing). It is also a very hardy cycad able to tolerate temps down to 18 degrees F / -8 degrees C. with little damage.

If you like cycads...I have several photos posted, taken from the San Diego Zoo...which has the second largest collection of cycads in North America.
