It actually looks more like a tree fern with that foliage. Our lacy tree fern - Cyathea Cooperi - can reach up to 30 feet.

Yes Dottydaisy - I have a photo of them from the parkland area down in Brisbane. Will have to go through all those photos and see if I can find it - then I'll post it for you.

Have just posted a photo of our native lacy tree fern Mushy - this does look like a similar variety.

Beautiful tree fern! It is amazing how tall they can grow...I've seen some species more than 50 feet /15 meters tall here in California.
