Thanks Hywel ~Yes this photo was taken in our granddads garden in 1966.
My Sister and I are very close and although we live over 100 miles apart we talk most days. It wasn’t like that all the time though we fought like cat and dog in our teenage years !

Lovely pic... can you remember much about the garden planted behind you ?

I think it was mostly all Roses Some standard I know one was Blue Moon, I remember Dad giving it to gran and granddad. From what I remember along the path was Aubrieta and alpines the hedge was Ligustrum, I know Granddad loved Roses.

Wonderful memories.... I remember aubrieta from childhood... in fact I have some of that same aubrieta plant in my garden today :o)

That’s fantastic TT funny how some plants trigger such happy childhood memories. We had a huge crataegus in the back garden, when I was about 7 I used to spent many happy hiding up the tree from my three brothers and sister we had a tree house and a swing in it.
