She lives under my shed,during the summer I collected loads of leaves and left them by the entrance to where they had been last year by the following morning they had all gone in to make there nest. I also feed them every evening.

lucky you :)) haven't seen any sign of mine this year, I think maybe the badger has frightened it off

Oh you are lucky, haven't seen one (healthy) for years i think it must be the slug pellets everyone seems to use now without a second thought:-(

Oh good you have a hedge hog Stripes. We used to have lots of them till about 8 years ago. I used to leave my Day lily leaves on and they made a hole, lined it with leaves, very expertly. Facing south west. when the sun came out one day I saw a sleepy hedgehog emerge. It got dry cat food and then went back. I looked under after a while and found 3 of them in a line. The leaves made the rain run off them. The other 2 had hazel leaves on top as well! They really are clever, if no one squashes or poisons them.It pays not to keep gardens too tidy. That said I do clear under the Day lillies these days.
