This photo was taken the first time I looked round the house (that's my dad in the picture!). You can see the roses at the front (unfortunately I don't know what kind any of them are but there are two pink ones, one white and an orange). The bush on the left has little yellow flowers which look a little like the kind I would associate with St. Johns Wort. Again any plants you could name for me would be a fantastic help! particularly the tree on the left above the little flowers

There's some great colours in those shrubs way up the back as well - the hydrangea will be a stunner.

You can take close-ups of leaves and flowers and post them as questions. Someone will ID them for you, I'm sure. :-))

That shrub with the little yellow flowers is indeed Hypericum - common name St. Johns Wort.
Opposite on the right looks like a large Hydrangea shrub but really need closer shots to be accurate :-)
