Deppea splendens 'Augusten'  (Deppea splendens 'Augusten')

Blooming in Botanical Building in Balboa Park. This relative of coffee is considered rare and believed to be extinct in the wild. Native to tropical forests of Mexico and Guatemala, it is now living only in cultivation from seeds. Photo taken Oct. 19, 2009.

Orgratis, it is a tall shrub...I'll post a full photo of this plant.
