Licuala ramsayi is one of the most beautiful fan palms in the
world. It is native to tropical Northern Queensland, Australia.

Thanks! Sometimes it's a little frustrating taking photos in the Botanical Building...however, it's just a big lath house. The sun does need to shine on the plants to make them grow. : > )

Yes, it is an understory palm. Here is must be grown in mostly shade or it would fry in the sun.

Sorry for all the shadowing on the photo...it's difficult to take a clear pic in the Botanical Building because of the sun shining through the wooden laths.
