This one I do know the common name but not the Latin, It really needs potting on to a larger pot now.

I wonder if it looks so good because you cut the 'bits' off? I had these years ago (in an office!) and they always ended up looking straggly.

yes Gee im sure the shoots feed off the main plant so thats what makes them tired looking

Panspotter - latin name is Chlorophytum comosum for the common spider plant. Those long wiry stems you cut off also produce the loveliest little white star-shaped flower.

Thanks Bernieh for the name will include, sorry for cutting off the the long flower shoots they are pretty but they did get tangled up with everything else on the window ledge, perhaps I should take one and let it grow in a hanging pot ;o)

Didn't mean my comment to sound like a complaint Pansypotter - I think your spider plant actually looks terrific like that. You don't have anything to be sorry about - those shoots would certainly be in the way on the windowsill. I'm just a bit of a fan of those little rather insignificant flowers.

Bernieh I didnt take it as a complaint it just reminded me of how pretty the flowers are if left as nature intended ;o))
