i thought this was fatsia when i clicked on it, it's a great picture, you know you can make some great Christmas decorations especially door wreaths with this stuff, your local florist would have a field day with this little lot.

bit of leaf shine on them will really bring out the colour... wait until they start to turn black before you do, or you can spray them gold or silver.... thier uses are endless....

Have been spraying our dried allium heads for years - an idea I originally got from my Mum (have pics of ours this year and a short blog - Crazydi also has pics from last Xmas of her dried alliums with micro lights). Should have added that I only bring in a very few Fatsia and ivy blooms, as they are an important winter source of nectar for the insects.

mmmm ofcourse we have to make sure we are not taking away what little food there is for the wild life this time of year don't we... i shall go have a look at your blog now David.....

i like allium, have some for next year, so when they go to seed how do you dry them out plez
1 Nov, 2009
the best way to dry anying is to hang it upside down somewhere that is not too bright, dry, frost free, with plenty of air circulation.... in an ideal world... but to be honest mine are still in the garden laying around the flower beds...lol i'll just bring them in, and sit them on some kitchen roll in my shed and then spray them with some silver spray...... Oasis floral spary is best for this...
