not sure what this is, it grows wild in my garden and it os s pretty i tend to try to work around it. The bees are also keen on this.
omeone suggested it is borage but it doesn't quite look right to me?

Hi Limpet, it's Green Alkanet (Pentaglottis sempervirens) from the Boraginaceae family. Have a look at http://www.dgsgardening.btinternet.co.uk/alkanet.htm

Thank you! I knew it wasn't common borage but you've confirmed it's part of the family :) It spreads like nothing else, I have it popping up just about everywhere but the bees love it and the flowers are so pretty I let it do its thing.

Yeah, the bees loved it in my last garden. Then I couldn't garden for about a year due to illhealth and the Alkanet staged a coup. I was on sandy soil and I swear those roots were heading for Australia ! I don't have it in this garden, but I did divide and pot up quite a few plants when I moved, so I'm keeping my eye on 'em !!!
