Desert Wildflower

Desert Wildflower

I'm thinking this is the globe mallow that grows wild around there but on the endangered list. Other pictures I've found show it in this orangy shade. Amazing, so hot and barren here.

It clearly thrives on those barren conditions :-)

These were definately stunning. Such a brilliant color. I did notice they were very few where I did see them.

These were such rich things in this red sand and intense heat. 40C. Some people stopped on the highway when they saw me walking to save me from exposure if my car had broken down. And there this is blooming away.

Thanks. I think they did think I was a bit crazy, wandering around in the desert, and excitedly scanning the ground for more flowers....lol. :-)
