In Tokyo these pretty flowers were surrounding some of the trees in the park at our hotel. My gardening ignorance shining through :) what is it?

If you're still interested, Peter, I'd almost certainly say Chionodoxa, owing to the flower, leaf and date. Spring-flowering, autumn-planted bulbs, readily available here, should you wish to plant up a container or area in the garden as a "reminder" of Tokyo. :-)

Lori - sorry, I must've missed your comment - I don't think I'd even try to remember everything but I'm slowly learning :o)
David - Thanks for that, maybe next year. I've got Snowdrops, Crocuses and Alliums bulbs planted for next year. Some in the lawn so I'm taking up valuable veg space :o)

Peter, there'll still be time after the flowers have gone to dig up the lawn, move the bulbs, and have the veggies :-0)

Digging up the lawn is a delicate matter at the moment - I've mentioned moving the path in a foot or two so I'd have more room for veg. Plans were rejected by higher powers :o)

Peter, I haven't a clue but wanted to point out to you that most experts, even those with encyclopedic knowledge and the memory of an elephant can't remember every flower...so take heart...
