Janey, moths cannot hurt you ,
The only reason it sits so quietly on the finger is because moths are active at night , sometime they will gat trapped inside and you have to pick them up very carefully as you could damage the wings , then you let them go in the garden in a shady spot. They don't object at all ,they are tired out and half asleep in daylight.
