Thanks everyone for all your lovely comments, bet you can guess where everyone likes to go on bonfire night and new years eve, don't need to go out you can see fireworks for miles and sunsets are amazing.
Had lots of block paving left when we had our drive done so hubby put them to good use Dawn, quite a handy man to have around, lol.

Yes, I can imagine you have a great view of everything nice. :-)
I love the idea of the bricks Simbad. Funnily enough we'll be having some block paving delivered soon - may increase the order, ha ha. I'm lucky to have a handy hubby too :-)

That brick edging is really neat and quite 'different'. I might have to copy this idea somehow. My new garden has a gravel drive and a lawn, but I don't think there is an edging and it will definitely need one!

We don't have this edging anymore Karen we were just trying out a few left over blocks from the drive, actually it was a flippin pain Rob just laid them on a sand base sure they'd have been better if cemented in but Rob just doesn't have the time at the moment, the grass grew between them and was a right fiddle to get out, we would have needed a huge amount to do all the garden edges so we used the bricks to make a patio area at the bottom of the garden and I use my plank of wood and edger to get a nice edge and just trim it weekly much easier :-)

Ah, ok, thanks for that. I was going to ask you if they were cemented.
