Peach Schlumbergera

Peach Schlumbergera

This one was close to yellow as I could come, and this years blooms are a little less yellow than last year. Still lovely all the same. Seen everywhere, but still as beautiful as ever.

I just learned the yellow seldom come true, most cannot get as cold as others for budding or they show pink tinge like this. These epiphitic succulents have had many names over the years, but I still love them.

Thank you Pipsqueak, Morgana, Grammazoo. :-) I do like this color. I have discovered true yellow varieties but in limited order stock, not sold in stores. :-)

Oh I like this one!... I wish I could find a yellow!

Thank you so much. I found only a few last year and this year, there is a bench of them at the store. :-) Its more subtle this year. I've studied them a little and they tend to turn more pink the cooler the buds form in. Warmer and you get more yellow. So this one might move. Still not a true yellow, those are available only by order.

I haven't seen any yellow at the supermarket where I found my other red one. checked at the local nursery and they don't have any either.

The peach has been only at Fred Meyers. Not sure how spread that chain is. No one else seems to have it, but Freds is really loaded up with them.

As usual, at this time of year, I've just received my first Seed catalogue!! sometime I must really keep track of the cost of my wish list....I could mortgage the farm and still not have enough to satisfy my plant obsession! lol....

Good ole Freddies...lol

That is not unfamiliar Lori. I don't know what I would do if I recieved catalogs to peruse all winter....eek! A bigger bunch of seeds and still me not starting them........:-) I'm going to try to be dedicated this year. :-)

Freddies here is the largest retailer in town, at least until our boom on an opening land trust about five years ago. Two superstores with just 90,000 people. Good ole Freddies is right. :-)
