Spring blossom .Queensland rainforest native tree

Flowering in the spring this native ,finger cherry then produces a 5cm oval shaped poisonous fruit that has caused blindness.

Even the wild life won't eat it , the fruit falls in heaps and just rots as nothing eats it , makes you wonder why it is in the system at all.

Its looks very similar to the flowers of Myrtus doesnt it.......very pretty.....

The botanical name is Rhodomyrtus macrocarpa . one common name is finger cherry .Native rainforesr undersrory tree .native to Cape York Queensland.I will post a picture of the fruit .
