its my neighbours carol, she gave me seeds but not done anything with them yet, wasnt sure if it was a berbiris thats why i asked barbara, as it looked a bit like one she posted, :o)

Wonder if you take a cuttings next year when there are new shoots on it and they may root, its just startd to pour it down again.

yes might ask neighbour if i can try a few pieces carol,, awfull weather grrr

Only just noticed this pic - I have to say it does look like Berberis ottawensis or thunbergii of some variety - but they don't have blue flowers, they have tiny yellowish/white flowers in spring, followed by a few blue/black berries (sometimes) in autumn.

this is defernatly blue bamboo, im going to post a pic next summer of it in bloom, very pretty

my neighbour doesnt know herself, she just remembers getting it off someone cause it was pretty :o)

Can I ask what grows up the trellis section behind this shrub? anything there?

umm not sure what she has there bamboo or if it just been left, cant remember.

My berberis thunbergii has bright red berries! Its flowers are small, and creamy-yellow.

i looked that up barbara and it did say you can get one with blue flowers but couldnt find it, kept changing from one thing to another, one called green carpet came up saying blue flowers but when i clicked on it didnt seem the same, so i gave up lol

well we are all thinking its a berberis and my neighbour thought it was to but maybe it isnt, i will ask her if its prickly when i see her,, it did look it when i looked over fence but cant always tell till close up, the mistery continues

Am just wondering if its a Berberis atropurpurea with some kind of climber or something behind it that has blue flowers and climbs through the bush, making it look like IT has blue flowers. Just a thought.
