Thank you Skillen. One has to be careful not to over water them, as it will rot very quickly. This one is dieing already, as it has flowered and shed it's seeds, but managed to find three seeds and they came up...well, so far :-)

Thank you Annella and Stripes.
Annella, I bought this plant at Hinwick, and if you can get it now, it will be cheaper. This is the time to buy some plants if you can keep them over winter in a warm place. That is why, I might be going tomorrow, see what they have.
Stripes, this plant is three years old, so this is the first flowers, but it will die now, as it's done it's purpose, and shed the seeds. To keep this plant throughout winter, one must not over water them, just enough water using a fine hand spray to moisten the soil only, and don't wet the plant itself.
Good luck ladies :))

Have you tried putting one in the garden & protecting with fleece Louis?

Used to grow in the midlands, died first winter, they have them on ebay if any one wants one. it is one of my favourite geraniums.

No Pam, I haven't tried wrapping them up with fleece through the winter. Because I have them in pots, I bring them in the greenhouse or the place I call La Taverna, as it's got a lot of protection, but no heating though. Thanks for the advice Pam.
Thanks for the info DD2, but I can get them at my local nursery. Oh by the way, I do live in the midlands.....

Only just seen this Louis: one of my favourite Geraniums,I see it a lot growing outside at the far tip of Cornwall along the coast. You get some fantastic specimens there. I have not had much luck with it in London and even at Kew only grows it under glass.

That's beautiful - I love the leaves and 'stalks' at the bottom - it has a really nice shape to it. Is this one of your 'hard to grow' plants?!
