What a beauty bet that one will have lovely flowers on it.

Oooo....I hope it doesn't drop its bud with the move. Why don't you give it a bit of water with some cactus fertilizer....It must be actively growing if it has produced a bud.

It looks like a Mammillaria. They flower in the spring. Keep it dry and on the cool side for the winter. Next spring you should get lots of little flowers in a ring around the top. Sometimes they do split and get 2 tops.

Thank you for the comments. I'm glad to have these new additions. It dropped only the buds that was opening Gilli, I'm thinking If I put them up on the crescent window ledge, the draft will cool them but still more light, as you suggest Hywel. Then it may stay dormant until spring bloom time when the temp goes up.

The prickly pear began growing a new segment when I got here. Any suggestions if I should put it in a cool position as well or just let it grow. I'm afraid it will drop to new growth. They may have been forcing them for winter sale so I'm guessing they are very confused right now.

Keep the Opuntia a bit warmer than the other one. It needs rather more warmth and moisture. But not much.

Will do. :-) I think they may do well together in the spot I've chosen. But I'll wait until I've become a little more familiar with them for that. Thank you.
