Thanks PP and Amy - these are rather common over here in the north ... mainly because they're such a heat and drought hardy plant and put on this fabulous display!
Actually I just saw two new varieties this morning when I popped into my favourite nursery - couldn't get them today ... but I think it will be soon!!!!

No Andy haven't seen the yellow one - the nursery had a two-tone light pink and a deep red. Like the sound of the yellow one as well.

Northern San Diego County. I'll have to check this
