Love the bell shaped flowers on the kalanchoe - they're so similar to the blooms on my kalanchoe serrata.

Bernieh:

I think you're correct...these are Kalanchoe serrata. So many species of Kalanchoe are very widely grown or grow wild here...it's difficult to keep up. The leaves on Kalanchoe serrata are narrower than Kalanchoe daigremontiana.
Thanks! : > )

Actually I thought you were right as I don't know that much about kalanchoes ... I just thought the blooms looked so much like mine! Anyway, this is one of the kalanchoes I prefer when they're in bloom ... those long spindley looking stems don't look like they could possibly support the weight of those flower heads ... yet they do.

Bernieh:

Kalanchoe serrata does bloom profusely this time of year. It difinitely has very narrow leaves compared to Kalanchoe daigremontiana which are much larger and a little less floriferous. My Kalanchoe blossfeldiana is going to bloom soon...this is probably the most popular Kalanchoe becuase of all the hybrids colors available here.

Yes, it is amazing how the thin stems can support the big flower spikes! : > )
