Little Pied Wagtail, and he is a little girl.

He is lovely Clarice,and nice plumage.He will probably come back ,now he knows where he will be well fed....

They search out small insects hiding in the garden Clarice...should stay with you now he has found your garden.Ours comes back every year and then disappears in spring !

Yes he is Clarice....if you watch him you'll see his tail wagging up and down....they're a really quick mover!..:o)

He's lovely Clarice but I think that you will find that he is actually a Pied Wagtail.

i was just going to say that myself.............its a pied wagtail..... longtailed tits are more black and white.....

Nice one Carol, but that's not just any old Pied Wagtail you've got there ! There are two races in Europe, 'yarrellii' in Britain, Ireland and adjacent Continental coasts and 'alba' in the rest of Europe. The race 'yarrellii' has a BLACK back and 'alba' has a GREY back. So your bird has travelled a fair distance to visit your garden. Word of your birdcakes has obviously spread far and wide !!! :-))

Lol...perhaps am wrong bur always thought the mainly grey back like Clarices was the female and the mainly black back like ours was male ! Lol

We ve had a pile more snow this morning but hasn t put the birds off esp the goldfinches they almost seem to enjoy it ! Yes got loads of pics like that too Janey - so much easier to delete them now .Once used 2 rolls of film to get one decent shot of a puffin off the cliffs near us.

No snow its a lovey sunny but cold frosty winter day, but no slippery ice to fall on.

Yes Janey esp when used to try developing them too ..chemicals enlargers blacked out bathroom ..never thought the quality would match film and it brings high quality results within reach of most.

We ve had a good 3 - 4 inches more Clarice .. I know we re welcome to it , try not to send it your way this time its just that Sandra wanted some for Christmas and she asked so nicely ..
