I have spotted a few people saying they have had them for the first time .. do you think they are coming in for feed because of the weather conditions ! or will they become regulars ?
3 Jan, 2010
Think it is mainly the harsh weather Amy.Our wagtail was a regular last winter too ten disappeared come spring. He returned with the snow a couple of weeks ago and has virtually lived in the garden every day.Feeding him mealworms and he is also taking small seeds !

BB / Jane , i'm sure my family thinks i'm nuts , I take out little pots of this and that for each different kind of bird in the morning , i'm skidding and sliding about making sure that they are alright ... I've even reached the stage where I don't like to draw the kitchen curtains at night because fudge sits out there in the freezing cold looking in and watching us ..

Oh Amy .. tell me about it. Jane always asks if birds been fed , you mind if I get dressed first ? Yes ..and off she trots dressing gown and slippers even in heavy snow to feed them.
Sure she d be quite happy for me to stroll round naked in snow so long as feeding birds. You ll be relieved to hear I wont be posting any pics ...
