Mid-summer downunder: my new garden beds are slowly filling out with the onset of rain.

Slowly, slowly they're starting to really fill out - can't wait for spring later this year.

How lovely to enjoy the new growth, really envy you while I sit looking at my poor frozen garden!

Hopefully soon the freeze will be over for you Pansy. I've been really enjoying nurturing these plants through the 'dry' season and now into the 'wet' as I haven't had a garden bed where I could plant some of the more tender plants since we moved out here - all the other beds had to have really drought and heat hardy ones... which are not always that spectacular to look at.

Looks as though they are doing very well with your TLC!

Thanks Pansy ... I've been trying and so far most things have made it through the dry and survived the nibbling wallabies and possum.

Yes hubbie and I managed to do a fairly decent job ... not experts though!

I let hubbie know your thoughts Marguerite .. he'll be chuffed! There's one section that irritates him because two of the blocks moved ... I've had to plant some seaside daisies to hang down over it so he can't see it anymore!

Bernieh:

It looks great! You did an excellent job!

I'm going to be landscaping a section of my front yard over the next month ( I posted the before pic of a couple of days ago)...I was going to do something similar...however, only 2 or 3 brick high. I only hope it looks half as terrific as yours!

I'm sure yours will look great Andy ... especially considering that ours turned out so well and we've got little to no experience with these sort of blocks ... they lock in at the back but you have to the bottom row very straight. What's going in your new bed ... is it for those potted palms?

Bernieh:

Thanks for the great inspiration...I'm going to need it! I first have to build a shade structure over the area...I'm so tired of sun-burned plants. Then, yes,
I have to dig up the potted palms -- which have roots growing in the ground...then the real work begins. My neighbors is taking his big planter out and is giving me his very rich soil which I need to carry to my house. Oh God, I'm getting tired just thinking about all the work! LOL! Well, you know how much work it is...
