The other day I was reading in a very old plant book...that 1st week in Jan start selecting Rhubarb crowns for forcing outdoors and here's yours already on it's way.

it will be intresting to see what the rest of the plant looks like after the snow has cleared Janey

Thats true Yorkshire......I have just one crown, but so far its still asleep......

our crown has always grown in winter but its the fact its popping out of the snow, hope yours wakes up soon.
