Stray amongst the greenery of Roman ruins

he looks like my Smokey's brother, he was called Bandit, its a good job i dont live in Italy i'd be wonting to fetch all the stray cats home with me.

It is good that they don't have to deal with climatic extremes, aye? lovely tabby! (He probably has a string of admirers who think he lives with them!)

That was taken yesterday morning and it was a bit grey and you could see he wasn't sure whether to venture forward or stay where he was - just to the left of the photo there is an arched grotto in the ruins where the Council of Rome have put little earthenware domes for them to sleep in. There are several of them in this park. I shall have to take a photo of them tomorrow on my way into work. Most of the cats have been neutered to keep a check on numbers (they cut off a tiny corner of their ear as recognition) and there are cat ladies (and men) who feed them and make sure they are all right. Some of them are real beauties. It's a shame it's not like this in some of the smaller towns - that is when I agree with Clarice and would willingly scoop them all up and take them home......

One of our local cat rescues will neuter feral cats here and put them back in the area they were found in. But they are then left to fend for themselves, but they always look healthy...so many mice about!

Yes you have point Pottygardener, but I think there are so many feral cats and I should imagine a limited supply of mice in bustling cities, so warm hearted cat lovers are much appreciated ....!!
