This Great Blue Heron was roosting on this Fishtail palm at the San Diego Zoo. The Great Blue Heron doesn't belong to the zoo...it's a wild bird here. Photo taken Jan. 25, 2010.

These birds are very common along the coast here. The San Diego Zoo is only a few miles from the coast. : > )
