Yes I know, but I bet he enjoyed it. It is years since I tasted mushroom and pigeon pie, I watched a programme on killing birds for food, Jackie Charlton was talking about mushroom and pigeon pie and I had to try it, it was really really nice not had one since though. Blackbirds are safe no pie for them! But pheasant might have to give that a try, only one or two feeding here, think they have all been shot in the wood. Lots of pigeons feeding because of the cold weather, they come for the corn and eat that out of the wild bird food, it saves me clearing up. They are a pest I know, but even they have beautiful colours and markings.

Been feeding 5 pheasants during the cold weather they keep coming every day tapping on the window, hubby's just had a text from a friend who has an allotment next to ours at the bottom of the garden to say he's had pheasant for tea, shot it on his allotment, hope he's joking too and its not one of mine :-(
