I've seen fields of cotton and even watched it being harvested, but never have I seen a cotton tree.

Well, Gardengnome, that's what I call it but that may not be its real name...it is possible that at lower altitudes the "shrubs" or "plants" are kept pruned in order to encourage growth...just like coffee...if you let coffee plants grow and don;t prune them, they grow so huge they almost look like trees! There were some on my grandfather's farm that were easily 6 feet tall - I could walk underneath their branches with no problem. Obviously it wasn't good for the coffee - the plants barely produced any at that point (my grandfather was already very old - in his nineties and there was no one to take over the farm - he died 3 years ago at age 99).

No matter the name, the novelty is still as good. That's why I so enjoy this web site, I'm always learning things
