Beautiful colour

Glad you all like it! This was a cutting that my next door neighbour gave to me last year, I potted it up and shoved it in the greenhouse, almost forgotten until the snow started which is when I brought it into the house and whoooosh up popped the stem. Now I've seen how beautiful it is I'll have to take more care of it. lol

Sometimes plants flower on neglect, and others the more you look after them the more sulky they become.lol

So now what shall I do...if I pamper it will it wither and die, or do I abandon it to the greenhouse again and hope that it does the same thing next year?

Decisions, decisions......

There are two more smaller ones in the same pot so if split them off I can then try both...back to your belt & braces. :o)

I have just been told they only do well if the flower spike is in the middle of the leaves, so be careful if and when you do split it.

These plants grow wild here...they've been blooming since mid-January and are loving all the rain we've been getting this year! : > )

That must be some sight to see them growing wild. Lucky you :o)
They're pretty tough and can take a light frost, but not much more. I had mine in an unheated geenhouse until it snowed, then I brought it into the house for it to bloom.

The reason why I asked...is because when I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area...in 1990 we experienced the biggest freeze ever recorded. Clivia miniata plants were not affected even in the inland canyon areas which got down to 18 degrees F/ -7 degrees C. Of course, most of these plants have to be grown in deeply shaded areas which are usually protected from cold also.
