Unfortunately, this palm is not very widely grown...because it is so ultra-tropical. However, I've seen some nice specimens around town. It is also an expensive palm...one this size would run in the thousands of dollars...if it could be found for sale.

Good grief that's an expensive tree..I won't be getting one to see if it could survive our winter..LOL..

Yes, a large tree commands a large price. I once saw a Bottle Palm about this size for sale in San Francisco in 1998...I think it was around $4,000.00. They're so expensive because they grow so slowly.

I can tell you with the most confidence...this palm will not grow outside in the ground in your climate. It's a cool weather whimp! lol! : > )

I did have a feeling it might be..Mind you can't blame it all...I know which i prefer .....:o)))

Even in San Diego...if this palm is not planted is a good warm spot...it may die.
