Yes, it is...thanks! This vine is very rarely seen growing here. It is so extremely ultra-tropical, I was very surprised to see it growing and blooming in San Diego.

Where does it originate from ?..

Mushybanna:

It's native to the torrid zones of Malaysia, India and Philippines. It likes very, very hot, hot steamy conditions all year to grow well. San Diego's climate doesn't even come close.

Mushybanna:

I've seen this vine for sale in the past...however, have been told it must be protected from temps below 50 - 55 degrees F. It's basically a cool-weather whimp...like me. LOL!!! : > )

I like the color and the shape, and here is hot and humid enough... send it down south to Brazil ...another tree for my balcony :P

Aleyna:

This vine would love the climate of Bahia or Recife, Brazil the best. It's very, very tropical. If you don't get temps below 55 degrees F. / 13 degrees C. very often it should do well for you. : > )
