I was upset to see the damaged pot which I keep in my old Birdbath, just had to get a new one!

It is Amy I think I will give up on Terracotta, I have a pair of lovely square pots with small conifers in them, one has shattetred and although I have had them two years they were expensive and I wouldnt have thought they would have scuccumbed to the frost Grrrrr

Sandra just put a tip on photo Waiting in The Wings about frost protection for any plants/flowers you cannot bring indoors, Cover plants with upturned flower pots with help to protect them ;0) [read it in the Gardeners World Mag just this morning]

Was it the frost that damaged your pot good to know you have now got a replacement.

Thanks for the tip, isn't it annoying when pots are so 'tender', do you think glazed are tougher? Perhaps we'd all be better off with plastic and they're easier to carry..if only they looked as nice:-)

I agree, in fact have bought 2 plastic troughs for the front which is very exposed, now they are planted and in situ they look very good and you would be hard pressed to know they were not pot;0)

I've bought three largish pots from wilkinsons which I think will look nice i think they're pewter lookalike:-)
