This tries to bloom all through winter, just lately in the sun getting a few open. Nice to see the fuschia coming back to life.

I agree, its amazing how they come back from what looks like dead twigs!

Don't remember ever seeing Fuschias... nice, though.

Thanks for the comments. Fuschia is something else isn't it? I like to see them come back to life since they do it on their own without my needing to jump start them :-)

It's nice to see even one Fuchsia flower in the middle of March! Ours are still only dead twigs still at the moment though a few of the cuttings in clay pots on the balcony railings are beginning to stir into life. They are in pots with the Crocuses & Snapdragons.

This one will try all winter Balcony. Very tough. All mine are showing a little life, though it stays a little weak until the time comes they can actually go outside. I sometimes get a spring and then fall bunch of flowers. Comes with keeping them in the house. Yours looked to be doing pretty good in those pots. I'm taking my cuttings a little way down the road still.

Nice fuchsia greenthumb, I haven't seen this one before

Thanks. Little blooms but very tough. I bring all of mine in and they drop their leaves and go to sleep, all except this one. It'll try all winter. Probably bloom all summer if it liked moving outside again. That it doesn't like so much.

I used to belong to the Leicester fuchsia society for a number of years. I used to like taking cuttings to increase my stock, -trouble is it is so easy to get carried away then you run out of space :-)

I'm always out of space. I've been increasing only by one or two a year. And that has been manageable. Summer planting is taken as cuttings from the stock plant each year so I can still have a bunch then without having a houseful all winter. They could easily be addictive, but too tender here to have too many.

That's the best idea Greenthumb I wish I had thought of that- just kept three of my favourite ones. Have you seen Swingtime that is a really nice one? If you haven't seen it you can google a pic of it.

Thank you Sixpence. Such a trooper!
Richardpeeej, I do have the swingtime. That is my eldest, about 3 years. Very reliable. I'm looking to add Quasar this summer, such a lovely blue.

I was thinking of making a standard of Swingtime for next year. I hope the plant from last year has survived the cold winter.

I have seen swingtime as a standard it is quite spectacular Balcony Well done for keeping it for three years Greenthumb-you are living up to your name!

A standard does sound wonderful Balcony. Those nice big bloom would hang great in that shape. Afraid mine will always be a bush. It branched right at the soil. But looks like it'll give me a few really nice cutting this year.
Thank you Richardpeeej. I am amazed they are so happy coming in for such a long winter, but they do it very well. I have a southgate I found, like swingtime but more a pale pink, that may not have enjoyed it though. Got forgotten.

I'm a fan of Fuschias - they're such beautiful flowers - so many varieties and leaf colours and there seems to be a variety for just about every position in the garden particularly in hanging baskets. :))
