As you can tell by now, I do love my Clematis, and have quite a few in my garden, trouble is, I can't always remember the names, and this is one of those! (Gardengirl has told me that it is Dr Ruppel, thank you so much Gg!) :~))

Thanks Hollyeves, I think Clematis are such good value for money when they perform like this. :o))

It is really putting on a show here. I have it in a mixed pot in my porch, and it seems to love the light and protection it gets there as you can see. I have a fern planted alongside it which does really well, not a bad combination. Thanks for comment Milky :o))

I adore Clematis, this is a lovely picture :-)

So do I Louise, they have so many uses within the garden. I have no control when it comes to this plant, if I see one and like it, it comes home with me-my husband truly despairs of me and our expanding collection!

Do you think it's serious Louise?Oh dear, I think I've become a plant addict and not realised it lol, do you think there's any hope for me???? or am I doomed to be smothered in the night by my own plant collection?? :o{{

I'm hoping for more success with mine this year. I bought a freestanding trellis for it which despite my sheltered garden blew over a few times before I worked out to use small bags of gravel to weigh it down. next I had my walls rendered and the chappy broke it when he moved it. I cut it down and it's growing again and my friend is attaching a trellis to the wall for me now so hope it does well this time.

Hi gardengirl1, yes, that's one of the biggest headaches with Clematis, it takes so little to damage them, it is all to easy to snap the stems, I have found that, even pruning them back this week, which can be so frustrating! I wish you great success with yours this year and look forward to seeing any photos you post :o)

Welcome, I see you just joined this month (like me!). Like you, I fear I am also out of control, and I am getting sucked in deeper and deeper with every new photographer I come across here. At this rate I will have no time left to sleep, which is always my top priority...
And all I do is look (and talk) : I don't buy, and I don't work.
I think there is little hope for us.
And I have to confess, jazz drives me up the wall, though pop is worse.
Fantastic photo !

Hi Gurthbruins, thanks so much for your comment, you made me smile! Warm welcome from me to you as another recent addict to the wacky world of GoYdom. I too, can lose hours on this site in catching up with posted comments and following what my favourite GoYs are doing, but I don't think I have ever found a site that can brighten my day, or make me laugh out loud, as much as this site has, hope you are enjoying it too! I only do the good melodic kind of Jazz, so it's not like two cats having a fallout, and Pop, I just don't think I understand anymore!! lol. Glad you like photo, but I too, am in awe of some of the pictures posted so I know what you mean !!!! :-)

I must agree with you, I have never found a site like this... that is clear from the fact that I am still here ! - and nowhere else, really.
Melodic is good. No melody, no music.
Yes, there are some incredible photographers here - but a photo doesn't have to win an award to be interesting or beautiful.
I didn't comment on any of your JR pictures - but I have to be politic as I am a bit involved with one at the moment...

Lovely to hear back from you Gb, I am well known as a bit of a luddite when it comes to all this technological stuff, and came across this site as a happy accident, and so glad I did, lots of great gardening insight, information and loads of laughs, what more could you ask for? Love the photos on here, cos it's a moment captured in time for others to share, and I really like that lol! You have a JR too? What's he/she like?

Gg, you are an absolute star~thank you for naming it for me! I am trying to keep all my labels and plant receipts in a box now, rather than leaving them on the plant and losing them! :~))

I am planning a bit of a patio revamp and clematis are definitely going to get a guernsey, this one is just stunning
(I recovered fine Flori, don't worry lol)

Glad you have recovered Pip! I have a great weakness for Clematis, and they really do flower their little hearts out as well~always a great idea in a Patio revamp lol! :~))x
