Thanks all, my clematis avalanche arrived this morning too (blame floribunda) it's beautiful and obviously more maure than these and full of buds:-) but less than £8 for 4 clematis.......yes Suey, unfortunately they do, but it's awkward getting on the bus with all these plus groceries:-) Progress reports will follow in time after I've picked many brains:-)

Glad your Clem Avalanche arrived and is full of buds Ba,though don't think you need much tempting when it comes to buying Clematis, judging by photo ha ha! They were a great bargain, wish we had a Morrisons round here :o(. Let me know how you get on with them, my brain tiny, but will assist if needed lol X

Thanks Fb, will do:-)

Hoped you got pm about the two Clematis books I mentioned. I'm begining to think I could open up my own library with all the gardening books I seem to have accrued here lol x

I've found it Florib, I don't know why, but it doesn't always show on my emails when I have a pm and I don't think to look unless I'm expecting one. I used to have a clematis book ( at least 20 yrs ago) by Raymond Evison I think and could do with another one. Particularly one that tells me what I can grow them up. Thanks for the recommendations, I'll have a look out for them. I'm thinking of having a small weeping cherry and wonder if it is possible to grow one up it for when it looks sad?

Am such a great believer in companion planting Ba, that I add Clematis to a lot of my small trees, so don't see why not. Have got Clematis Princess Diana growing up into my weeping Kilmarnock Salix, and that seems more than happy. Usual rules apply, heads in the sun, roots kept cool in the shade, and keep soil moist as trees tend to pull on a lot of water from the soil. Can look it up for you and pm info if you would like my friend, should you choose to go down that path? :-))

Thanks Flori:-)

Will do Dd, everything is in pots now awaiting makeover, having heard the weather forecast, I think some will be going in the garage for a bit. what do you feed yours on? :-)
27 Mar, 2010
When they are flowering we feed with tomato feed, also about 4 times a year we feed liquid seaweed. We have plants in the bedroom now, the front room, the garden room and the porch/green house, oh and the kitchen !!!

You're worse than me, but I bet you don't have a plastic greenhouse on view to all in your front porch lol, it's the only place I've got that's light enough :-)

No your on your own with that one....lol
