Patches looking regal.

Patches looking regal.

Patches came with Taff, they had lived together for 10 years before going into the rescue centre,. We fostered them for three months and couldn't part with them, so took them both on.Patch was so much quieter than Taff in all ways thank heavens! We lost Patch a year ago,she was 21years old, and a sweetheart to the end. We might cry tears because they slipped away from us, but smile with real joy that they enriched our lives so much. my 'girls' are there waiting on Rainbow Ridge.

Patch was quite 'aloof' in her own way, maybe cos Taffie, was lively enough for both of them lol! We couldn't believe how long she went on either Irish, she out- lived Taff by almost two and a half years, just incredible!

Thanks Hywel and Sanbaz for your comments, I really appreciate them. Just hope you don't mind me sharing my 'girls' with you all, they were a big chunk of our lives, and we are richer for them being being part of it x

Bless you Valadel, we were so incredibly lucky to have her all those extra years, and apart from a touch of arthritis in her back, she stayed pretty healthy, it was old age that caught up with her in the end, but the 11 years we had her for were wonderful, as you said,21 is pretty good going!

Such gorgeous girls Flori....and what an age! Were they from the same litter? I'm sure Finn is with them too now, one each side of him.......:o) X

Ah thanks Janey :o) No, not litter connected at all, though we always called them sisters, cos they were devoted to each other. When we took them on, they had already lived together for 10 years, so we couldn't bear to seperate them, even though taking them on I ended up with 3 dogs! The 'girls' got to live together their entire lives until we lost Taff, but Patch delt with her loss really well, and lived a further two years before she went back to join her 'sister'. I believe once a love-link has been established, you never truly lose a loved one, and I so believe in that wonderful poem Piersdad posted about Rainbow Ridge, I know we will see them again.Your Fin is still bright eyed and waggy tailed Janey, and my little girls will be stood alongside him just waiting X

Now you're starting me off, as I get older I become far more easily moved and the 'rainbow bridge' did it for me:-( She has a lovely soft expression Flori. I haven't been on here much ( did I mention my bad foot lol? )so missed these pics, let's hope all our pets are waiting fo us:-)

So good to hear from you again Ba, you have been much missed my friend!! Hope you are well on the road to recovery now, it's so frustrating when you are restricted by health, especially movement! Have just left you a PM. As to getting emotional as you get older, It's a wonder I haven't rusted, 'specially when I read some of my fellow goyers heartache on losing their pets, I end up sitting here writing with tears running down my face!!!! I am so soft! I had never read 'Rainbow bridge' before, and oh how beautiful it is. I am so very grateful to Piersdad for posting it on site. I miss my 'girls' a lot, but Raff really has helped ease the grief we felt, and keeps us smiling. I really do believe we never truly lose our pets, once the love-link is forged, it never seperates till we rejoin them again, and that belief keeps us taking on our rescue dogs and giving them the best life we can x
