Rauvolfia caffra - Quinine Tree

This Quinine Tree is growing in North Park, San Diego, CA. It is so lush and green from all the rains we've had this year. This tree is native to low lying African tropical forests near rivers, streams and on floodplains. Many Rauvolfia species grow here...however, they need a lot of water during the summer.
